Our Approach
The MotivAction Group have researched the fundamentals of changing culture and bringing values to life through recognition.
Our research led to the definition of principles for a successful recognition program and these principles have been proven in practice over the past 8 years.
- Leadership, Integrity & Example Strategic Leadership, active support and use of the program is crucial.
- Empowering & Trusting People For any organisation to truly bring values to life, they have to empower everyone with the ability to recognise those values in the behaviour of others.
- Design, Involvement & Engagement Agree principles with Senior Team, then involve people in the design so that what is launched can be said to have been done with ‘your input, ideas and feedback’.
- Ongoing Communication Constant high visibility every day for all, simple, clear and engaging. Use a tangible way of recognising people.
- Simple Structure There should be the chance for recognition for all, every day, throughout the whole of the year. Simplicity and minimal administration are key.
- Awards to boost Recognition Frequent - balance probability of winning (approx 30% per year). Awards can enhance the value of recognition. If there is an equal chance of being drawn for an award then the nomination itself has added value and becomes recognition.
